The path along the side of the house leads to the studio’s private entrance at the back. I’ll send you a code to unlock the door after you book; contactless check-in and check-out is easy, safe and convenient! When you come inside, the large totally remodeled bathroom and laundry will be to your left. Down a short hallway, you’ll find the main room of the guest studio. The kitchenette to your right is like a full kitchen, scaled-down! Petite appliances save space while still providing everything you need for your visit. I found a great table that provides enough space for two to dine, and expands to provide a larger space for working if you need it. The brand new bed is firm enough to be supportive and soft enough for a good night’s sleep. Crisp fresh linens and high-quality bedding make every night a little getaway. Amarillo has four-season weather, so there is air conditioning for warm days, heat for cool times, and a ceiling fan for enjoying Amarillo’s famous breezes through the beautiful spring and fall. Then we learned UV light could kill Covid. So, we bought a UV light to pass over all living room furniture before we place freshly washed covers over the upholstery. We bought duvet covers for the comforter on pillows to be washed and replaced between guests. We removed all throw pillows. We wipe down everything. Every lamp switch, light switch, drawer or cabinet pull, faucet handle, fan pull, door knob, TV remote, handle on the recliner, refrigerator handle, oven knobs and handle, microwave handle...everything we see is sprayed with 70% Isopropyl alcohol as we leave for the last time before you arrive. After we sanitize a room we leave a sticky note letting you know it has been sanitized and the guest is the only one permitted to enter. You see? We own it. We are responsible. That makes us more careful with our cleaning habits. We used to travel with our business. At times we would have stock worth thousands of dollars we had to leave in the vehicle over night. We grew weary of life on the road. Having a guest house behind our house was a burden as we had college kids living there while we were on the road. One night in Walsenburg, Colorado I discussed life on the road with our hotel neighbor. We welcome all well-behaved dogs, but please be sure to mention your pet when you are making a reservation or sending an inquiry. We are "pet friendly" and have a few guidelines for our guests with furry friends / fur babies. - Pet accommodations are $25 per pet. - Guest are responsible for cleaning up any pet waste. - Please keep pets off furniture and bedding. - Please remember to clean your pet's paws when they come inside. -If it has been raining or snowing, please make sure pets do not track mud inside. Any evidence of not following these guidelines may incur extra cleaning fees. Wifi - *Absolutely no downloading of copyrighted material (no bit torrent, for example). Any copyright infringement by guest subject to release of guest info to copyright holder for further action. Please do not book for other guests. The Property has a ring security camera placed in the front exterior of the home. Footage remains private and may be used for liability reasons. 1930's Cottage in the historic district of Amarillo. Blocks from I-40, I-27 and Amarillo College. Central location, close to downtown area. Tree lined brick streets add to the charm of this safe neighborhood. House easily sleeps 6-8 people. Master bedroom has a King bed. Upstairs is a full bed with attached shower bathroom. In a second living space downstairs, a queen fold out sofa bed is available. Kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans and dinnerware. Dining room with large table and 6 chairs. Second Living area has TV with cable. Main living room has large TV with streaming. Internet available. Washer and Dryer is located in the detached garage. Bathtub and shower bathroom located downstairs. Stairway to upstairs is very steep and can take some getting used to. It does have a handrail to make it easier to manage comfortably. The upstairs bedroom also has its own HAVC for comfort during hot weather.
